Description
An Irving Berlin musical tribute intended to boost morale during World War II. It honors the patriotic efforts of American soldiers during World Wars I and II. Berlin appears as himself, as does singer Kate Smit,h who sings God bless America, for which she received the Congressional Gold Medal. Ronald Reagan stars as Johnny Jones, a son who follows in his father's show business footsteps. During World War I his father staged an all-soldier show on Broadway called Yip yip Yaphank. In World War II his son Johnny Jones, who was his father's assistant, gets the order to stage a new show, called This is the army.
